Men and women tend to lose their hair due to various reasons, but determining the exact cause may be difficult. However, to treat hair loss one must know the cause to carry out possible treatment. These reasons can range from any vitamin deficiency to any health condition which leads to temporary or permanent damage to hair.

Telogen Effluvium – Telogen Effluvium is a common condition generally occurs after a stressful event such as major surgery, heavy weight loss, stress, pregnancy etc. You might face hair fall from 6 weeks or 3 months after any such event.

Heredity – Medical term of heredity hair loss is androgenetic alopecia which is widely common. If there was hair thinning and pattern baldness in your family history, more probably you will also face such issue.

Hair Pulling – If you are constantly pulling your hair or wearing hair in tight braids then it will lead to hair loss. This condition is known as Traction alopecia mostly causes hair fall in hairline gradually.

Hypothyrodism – People with hypothyroidism (producing too little thyroid hormone) can have patchy hair loss condition.

Anemia – If you are low on iron in-taking count then most probably your hair follicles are of poor quality. Iron is responsible to produce hemoglobin that pushes the oxygen to hair follicles.

Protein/Vitamin Deficiency – People with low on protein and vitamins diet may have malnutrition causing massive amount of hair shedding in shower, combing, etc. Hair follicles require keratin to maintain hair in good condition which comes from protein.

Styling – Styling your hair often like straitening, coloring, curling, bleach, permanent waving etc can cause hair fall. It is important to use expert products while performing such task to have minimum damage.
