Wearing sunscreen is the easiest way to protect your skin from suns harmful UVA/UVB rays. However applying sunscreen looks like a tedious job to most of us, while some people apply it once and leave it for rest of the day. That does not help! Sunscreen needs to be applied every 4 hours until sun sets down. You are doing maximum damage to skin if you are going out without sun screen.
- Sun tan – When you go out to sun without sunscreen, your skin gets exposed to harmful sun rays that leaves suntan on skin. Dark skinned people get even darker and light skinned people turn red without sunscreen in sun.
Uneven Skin Tone – Our body produces melanin that protect the layers of skin from damage, however due to sun exposure melanin level goes to over production that causes uneven skin tone or discolouration.
Skin Cancer – Research says people that spend more time in sun without sun protection are highly vulnerable to skin cancer. Sunburns especially blistering sunburns can also cause skin cancer, and serious issues if prolonged treatment.
- Premature Ageing – Sun burn damages the cells and blood vessels under the skin and your skin starts looking dry, wrinkled, uneven and also less elastic. All these are signs of premature ageing and can be prevented by the use of proper SPF.
- Blotchiness – Skin that is often exposed to sun will have repeated attach of itchiness, swelling, peeling and redness. All these will ultimately cause blotching on your face and sun exposed area.
